MARK AUSTIN

Mark Austin has been teaching martial arts since 2004. His passion for martial arts stems from his early taekwondo classes as a child and teenager to his exploration of Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Aikido, and many other martial arts.

His passion for martial arts led him to open his first Cutting Edge Martial Arts in Big Sky, Montana, in 2011, dedicated to providing comprehensive martial arts training, promoting fitness, and encouraging focus and self-discipline among children and adults. In June of 2013, he opened a second location in Bozeman.

 

Mark’s martial arts credentials include:

• 5th Dan in Kukkiwon / Olympic Taekwondo

• International Kukkiwon Master Instructor License

• International Kukkiwon Test Examiner Certified

• Sheepdog Response Protector I Certified

• 1st Dan in Aikijujutsu

• 2nd Kyu in Jundokan Karate

• Unranked, but one to eight years’ experience in each of BJJ, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Krav Maga, Aikido, Tai Chi, Bau Gua, Qigong

• A boundless desire to learn, improve, and adapt

He graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University with a B.S. in Computer Science.

Beyond martial arts, he reads voraciously and widely, studies macroeconomics, writes fiction, designs/programs games, trades cryptocurrency, hikes and camps with his wife, and plays with their dogs.
